PHOTO CONTEST: Win the Henri-Cartier Bresson DVD + Prizes from Photojojo!
"As far as I'm concerned, taking photographs is a means of understanding which canonot be separated from other means of visual expression. It is a way of shouting, of freeing oneself, not of proving or asserting one's own originality. It is a way of life." - Henri Cartier-Bresson
This week, New Video Group releases the Collector's Edition of the Henri Cartier-Bresson DVD set, which includes a series of documentaries on the artist, five of his original works, and a booklet containing photographs, quotes, and essays on his life. In the spirit of this amalgamation of photography and cinema, we've teamed up with Photojojo to bring you our first photo contest! Photojojo is a candy store for photographers of sorts, with a really great newsletter devoted to sharing just about anything rad that's related to photography (photo tips, DIY projects, inspiration and more).
The contest is simple: take a photo inspired by a film. Send it to us at contest(at)greencine(dot)com and let us know what film you're referencing. We'll post our favorite photos here (along with your credit) and allow submissions to our Flickr pool once the contest has closed. 1 grand prize winner will receive, compliments of PhotoJojo, our favorite little gadget of late, the Digital Harinezumi 2.0, which captures dreamy photos and Super-8 style video (check out stills and video), plus a copy of the Henri Cartier-Bresson DVD set.
One runner-up will receive the awesome magnetic photo rope, and the DVD. Please read below for rules and terms. We look forward to seeing your cinematic-inspired creations!
Rule and Terms: Deadline to enter is April 20, 2010. One photo submission allowed per entry. Please keep digital manipulation to a minimum. Photos must be at least 600 pixels on the longest size, and no larger than 6MB. Accepted file formats are JPG, GIF, TIF and PNG. By entering this competition, you grant GreenCine and its affiliates a non-exclusive licence to display your photograph in connection with this contest. Photographers will always be credited alongside their image (send us a link to your blog, website, or just your name for credit). This contest is open to submissions world-wide. Please include your name and shipping address with your entry. Winners will be announced April 27, 2010 in future editions of the GreenCine Dispatch, and by email notification.
