GreenCine's Oscar Live Blog: March 7, 2010.
It's the wonderful time of year again, when people of all ages gather together to watch
the Academy Award ceremony, alternating between wishing they were there on the red carpet, and feeling aggravated by the show and the awards themselves. But it's a favorite tradition and we wouldn't miss it for the world.
On March 7, 2010, during the Oscar ceremony, GreenCine will be hosting a live chat featuring some of our favorite film bloggers from around the US, and the world, chiming in with live commentary on the proceedings. Using the terrific Cover It Live interface, our panelists will chat throughout the evening and take your questions on the awards. Join host Craig Phillips, editor at GreenCine, as well as Aaron Hillis, editor of GreenCine Daily, as they keep the conversation flowing with our esteemed guests and you, the moviegoing public. We hope you'll join us and bring your friends, for a party on the virtual red carpet.
When: Sunday, March 7, 2010. 5pm PST/8pm EST.
Where: Here on Greencine.com/central and on Daily.greencine.com
Who: Our confirmed list of panelists include:
- Andrew Grant (Like Anna Karina's Sweater)
- Matt Singer (IFC)
- Sam Adams: LA Times, Philadelphia Inquirer/City Paper, Onion AV Club, eMusic, IFC
- James Rocchi (MSN Movies, American Movie Classics, and Rocchi Report)
- Lisa Rosman (IndieWire: New Deal Sally)
- Eric Kohn (IndieWire: Screen Rush)
- Josh Ralske (AllMovie.com)
- Steve Dollar (24XPS.com and contributing editor at
Paste magazine) - Amy Monaghan a.k.a. Cinetrix (Pullquote; professor of Film at Clemson U.)
- Aaron Dobbs (Out of Focus)
Plus special guests and, we hope, you.
This year's Academy Award nominations certainly provoke their own unique set of questions and discussions. For example, for the first time ever, there are ten films nominated for Best Picture. And with quite a few of the actors first-time nominees, you might find yourself having trouble making keeping track of them all. We'll be there to help you make sense of it all with perspective both historical and hysterical.
Television coverage on ABC. Go to Oscar.com for more information about the ceremony and to GreenCine for the nominees.
